This season, Koudys currently has three assists in 20 games played to go along with a plus-5 rating. He was also a fifth round pick (147th overall) by the Washington Capitals in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft. Koudys will have two years of college eligibility remaining beginning next season.
“Penn State was the right choice for me because it was more than I expected when visiting the campus with the new state of the art facilities being built, and the coaching staff is dedicated to helping me develop my skills for the pro level,” said Koudys. “Penn State has everything to offer both on and off the ice for me because it is close to home and the Engineering program they offer is second to none.”
Koudys was acquired by the Lumberjacks in free agency in July of 2012 and is in his first season with the team. Prior to coming to the Lumberjacks, Koudys spent the previous two seasons in college with Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) out of the East Coast Hockey Conference (ECAC), where he tallied five points (two goals and three assists) in 59 games played.
