The Michigan native to make his Lumberjacks debut this weekend beginning Friday in Indiana

MUSKEGON, Michigan (December 12th) – The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced that they have acquired Forward Connor Wood from the Michigan State Spartans, and he will be making his Lumberjacks debut this weekend when the team takes on the Indiana Ice and Chicago Steel, respectively, tomorrow and Saturday night on the road.

Wood, the Bloomfield Hills, Michigan native, was in his second year with the Michigan State program after redshirting his freshman season last year.  The forward was a fourth-round pick (55th overall) by the Des Moines Buccaneers during the 2010 USHL Futures Draft and played in one game for the Buccaneers during the 2010-11 season.

Prior to joining the Spartans, Wood spent the 2011-12 season with the Detroit Honeybaked Under-18 Team based out of Oak Park, Michigan recording 57 points (26 goals and 31 assists) in 61 games played while serving as an alternate captain on the team.  In addition, the forward notched a goal and an assist during the 2012 State Playoffs and was also a teammate (at Honeybaked) of Brock Krygier, who is the son of Lumberjacks Head Coach Todd Krygier and currently a redshirt defenseman for the Spartans.

In other roster moves, the Lumberjacks have released Defenseman Myles McGurty after he appeared in nine games for Muskegon tallying one assist.

The Lumberjacks will hit the road this weekend before the league-wide two-week holiday break hits against the Indiana Ice tomorrow night at 7:05 pm followed by a bout with the Chicago Steel on Saturday at 8:00 pm.

Following the break, the Lumberjacks will return home for the team’s only Sunday home game of the season on December 29th against the Youngstown Phantoms at 5:15 pm that will feature Car Load Night.  Fans can pile any number of people into one car for the low price of $40 that will include a ticket to the game along with a complimentary parking pass.

Individual game tickets will be on sale for the next three weeks for the December 29th home game for the low price of $10 for adults and $6 for children ages 3-12 if they are purchased before the day of the game.  Tickets can be purchased at the Lumberjacks’ Box Office or by calling (231) 724-5225.
