MUSKEGON, MI- The Muskegon Lumberjacks have added Canadian forward Connor Gourley to their affiliate list.

The 2004-born forward hails from Calgary, Alberta, and played with Edgewood Prep School during the 2019-2020 season. In 26 games, Gourley scored 20 goals, added 19 assists, and racked up 50 penalty minutes.

Gourley stands 6-foot-2 and weighs 170 pounds, and used that body in a power-forward style.

“Connor is a big addition for us, for our future,” said General Manager Jimmy McGroarty. “He has great size for his age, and a powerful stride. Connor uses his size well down low to create time and space, and protects the puck well on the rush, either driving the net, or finding the late guy coming into the zone.”

“What impresses me the most is his IQ and hockey sense. He’s a teammate that makes players around him better.”

It is anticipated that Gourley will play junior hockey in 2020-2021 with the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL (Alberta Junior Hockey League), the same team that former Lumberjack Brock Bremer suited up for.

In a corresponding move, the Jacks have released 2020 draft pick Connor Levis. Levis will sign a CHL contract.
