GREEN BAY, WI- The Muskegon Lumberjacks erased a 3-0 deficit to beat the Green Bay Gamblers 5-4 at the Resch Center Friday night.
Green Bay got off to a fiery start, opening the scoring with a Jesse Tucker goal late in the first period. Tucker's second of the year was the only tally of the first.
Green Bay controlled the momentum in the second period, until captain Dylan Wendt dropped the gloves with his former team late in the frame to get the Jacks re-energized.
After the fight, Quinn Hutson scored his fourth goal in as many games to make the score 3-1 after two.
In the third, Muskegon drew within one when David Pennington lit the lamp to cut the Gambler lead to 3-2.
Hutson would notch another point, assisting in Tanner Kelly's game-tying goal with 5:30 to play in regulation .
Muskegon would take their first lead of the game less than a minute later when Jack Williams scored his fifth of the year, a shorthanded goal that put the Jacks in front 4-3 with 4:44 to play.
Gamblers defenseman Mason Lohrei tied the game with just three seconds left in regulation to force overtime for the home team.
Overtime would go without a score, forcing a shootout. However, Rhett Pitlick would get a penalty shot opportunity.
Muskegon will rematch against the Gamblers tomorrow night.
