YOUNGSTOWN, OH- The Muskegon Lumberjacks got six goals from six different scorers and Jan Skorpik posted his second-straight shutout in a 6-0 win over the Youngstown Phantoms Friday night.
Dylan Wendt extended his franchise-record point streak to 15 games in the victory. The Lumberjacks' magic number to cliche the number two seed in the East is now five with four games to play.
Muskegon got a first-period goal from Danil Gushchin and didn't look back, controlling the game from start to finish.
The Jacks added a pair in the second from Thomas Sinclair and Cameron Berg to push the lead to 3-0 after two.
In the third, the Jacks tacked on an early goal from Cristophe Tellier early in the frame. Then, Muskegon pushed the lead to 6-0 late in the stanza on goals from Philip Tresca and Brad Marek.
Tresca added an assist in the game, and has scored a goal in four of his last six games.
Muskegon outshot Youngstown 31-18 in the game, and Skorpik posted his second consecutive shutout. After not recording a single shutout in the 19-20 season or the first 47 games of 20-21, the Jacks have now recorded two shutouts in their last three games.
