MUSKEGON, Mich. — The Muskegon Lumberjacks have announced that nine players have been added to the NHL Central Scouting Preliminary Watch List. Tyler Dunbar, Jacob Guevin, Cameron Korpi, Owen Mehlenbacher, Jeremiah Slavin, and Ethan Whitcomb are the six current Lumberjacks added to the list in addition to future Lumberjack players Michael Callow, Matthew Morden, and George Fegaras were all named as players to watch by NHL Central Scouting and will be eligible for the 2022 NHL Entry Draft.
About Tyler Dunbar
Dunbar, the 6-foot-1, 189-pound defenseman has appeared in 53 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2020-21 season, totaling three goals and six assists for nine points. This season, Dunbar has put up two goals from the blueline in six games played with Muskegon. The Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. native is committed to playing for the University of North Dakota.
About Jacob Guevin
Guevin, the 5-foot-11, 181-pound defenseman appeared in 53 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2020-21 regular season, totaling seven goals and 38 assists for 45 points. This season, Guevin has put up one goal and six assists for seven points in six games played with Muskegon. The Drummondville, Quebec native is committed to playing for the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
About Cameron Korpi
Korpi, the 6-foot-2, 147-pound goaltender appeared in 15 games with the NAHL’s Bismarck Bobcats during the 2020-21 regular season, with a 9-3-2 record, 2.07 GAA, and a .926 save percentage. Korpi also played in 13 games with the USNTPD U17 team last year as well. The South Lyon, Mich. native is committed to playing for Western Michigan University.
About Owen Mehlenbacher
Mehlenbacher, the 6-foot-3, 199-pound forward appeared in 46 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2020-21 regular season, totaling eight goals and four assists for 12 points. This season, Mehlenbacher has managed to put up one goal and one assist for two points in six games played with Muskegon. The Fort Erie, Ontario native is committed to playing for the University of Wisconsin.
About Jeremiah Slavin
Slavin, the 6-foot-2, 198-pound defenseman appeared in 56 games with the Colorado Thunderbirds 16U during the 2020-21 regular season, totaling three goals and eight assists for 11 points. Slavin is the younger brother of Jaccob, who plays for the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes. The Erie, Colo. native is committed to playing for Colorado College.
About Ethan Whitcomb
Whitcomb, the 6-foot-3, 199-pound forward appeared in 27 games with the Niagara North Stars U16 during the 2019-20 regular season, totaling 16 goals and 13 assists for 29 points. This season, Whitcomb has scored one assist through five games played with Muskegon. The St. Catherines, Ontario native is committed to playing for the University of Nebraska-Omaha.
Three Affiliates Make the List
Michael Callow, the 6-foot-3, 181-pound forward appeared in 34 games with the Cape Cod Whalers 16U during the 2020-21 regular season, totaling 19 goals and 14 assists for 33 points. The South Boston, Mass. native is committed to playing for Harvard University.
Matthew Morden, the 6-foot-5, 203-pound defenseman appeared in 61 games with the Toronto Titans 16U during the 2019-20 regular season, totaling eight goals and 23 assists for 31 points. The Burlington, Ontario native is committed to playing for Harvard University.
George Fegaras, the 6-foot-2, 185-pound defenseman appeared in 35 games with the Richmond Hill Coyotes 16U during the 2019-20 regular season, totaling 10 goals and 21 assists for 31 points. The Richmond Hill, Ontario native is committed to playing at Cornell University.
