PRESS RELEASE — Six Lumberjacks sign National Letters of Intent

MUSKEGON, Mich. — Six Muskegon Lumberjacks players signed their National Letter of Intent (NLI) to NCAA Division I institutions. Lumberjacks forwards Quinn Hutson, Joey Larson, Ben Strinden, Jack Williams, Tyler Hotson, and goaltender Cameron Korpi all signed to their respective colleges and universities.

About Quinn Hutson — Boston University

Hutson, the Barrington, Ill. native recently signed his NLI to Boston University out of Hockey East. The 5-foot-11, 171-pound forward has appeared in 12 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2021-22 season, totaling six goals and four assists for 10 points.

About Joey Larson — Northern Michigan University

Larson, the Brighton, Mich. native recently signed his NLI to Northern Michigan University out of the revamped Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA). The 6-foot-1, 196-pound forward has appeared in 12 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2021-22 season, totaling five goals and two assists for seven points, which includes his first career hat trick.

About Ben Strinden — University of North Dakota

Strinden, the Fargo, N.D. native recently signed his NLI to the University of North Dakota out of the National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC). The 6-foot-1, 193-pound forward has appeared in 12 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2021-22 season, totaling five goals and four assists for nine points while also serving as alternate captain of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

About Jack Williams — Northeastern University

Williams, the Biddeford, Maine native recently signed his NLI to Northeastern University out of Hockey East. The 6-foot-1, 193-pound forward has appeared in 11 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2021-22 season, totaling one goal and three assists for four points while also serving as captain of the Muskegon Lumberjacks.

About Tyler Hotson — Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute

Hotson, the Stratford, Ontario native recently signed his NLI to Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute out of the Eastern Collegiate Hockey Conference. The 6-foot, 163-pound forward has appeared in 12 games with the Lumberjacks during the 2021-22 season, totaling four goals and two assists for six points.

About Cameron Korpi — Western Michigan University

Korpi, the South Lyon, Mich. native recently signed his NLI to Western Michigan University out of the NCHC. The 6-foot-2, 147-pound goaltender has appeared in four games with the Lumberjacks during the 2021-22 season, with a record of 0-2-0, a goals-against-average of 4.44, and a .842 save percentage.
