MUSKEGON, MI- Although LC Walker Arena is still closed to the public amid ongoing renovations, the Muskegon Lumberjacks have started preseason play with a pair of wins, improving to 2-0-0 after a 5-4 overtime win on Saturday.
Muskegon has four more preseason contests before their roster must be trimmed down to 23, and head coach Mike Hamilton plans on trimming the roster considerably even before that deadline.
“We’d like to be down to 25 players by Sunday,” said Hamilton. “After our series with Central Illinois, we have alerted the players that there will be cuts made.”
That series against the Flying Aces takes place this weekend, but first, Muskegon takes on Team USA at home this Wednesday at 5:30pm. The game will not be open to the public, but live audio will be available, and Rad Dad’s restaurant will be open, and offers views of the LC Walker Arena ice.
The Lumberjacks will wrap up their preseason schedule on September 22 with another home contest against Team USA. This game will be open to the public and free of charge! Come and see the new-look LC Walker Arena for yourself as the Jacks take the ice for their final preseason dress rehearsal.
Here is Muskegon’s remaining preseason slate:
Wednesday, September 12, 5:30pm: HOME vs Team USA (closed to public, Rad Dad’s open)
Friday, September 14, 7:15pm: HOME vs Central Illinois (closed to public, Rad Dad’s open)
Saturday, September 15, 8:05pm: AWAY vs Central Illinois
